Anyone heading out there?

I have an acquintance at one of the warehouses I frequent that has never been to any racetrack before and was wondering if I would go with him to watch. Also anyone know what time do they start and end? I have heard its around $10 for spectators.

Just saw a twin turbo funnycar Camaro (2nd gen body style) Lanunch out of the hole and get sideways- he shut it down about 150' out and still ran a 5.31 1/8 mile.

They are getting some world class cars there.

There limit is 5 flat, anything quicker cannot run there, due to the shutdown area. That was not a funny car from what I was told, it did however run a 5.10 @ 118 after he let off past the 330' mark ... all while only using three tires to make that pass. Talk about fast!

That makes a heck of alot of sense becuase of the one lane shutdown and lack of distance. The ran him on the outside with no one else on the inside so merging was not a problem. This Camaro is an orange color with what almost looks like twin jet engines on the hood out of stainless steel (Induction ports leading to the turbos) The car is a tilt up chassis. I would guess he is capable of high 3's in the 1/8

Naw, not that fast. He is probably mid to mid upper 4s. The 1/8 mile ET was good for an 8 second flat run. I think he can do a mid-low 7 second pass at about 180-190.

They usually run cars that are 6.3s in the far lane by themselves to avoid that merging, especially with slower cars.

Tha'd be the car all right. So my estimate of a high 3 sec 1/8th wasn't all that far off. Probably more like a 4.1 or 4.2

That car launches like its comming out of a cannon

That is a strange hood.. Those are the turbo's built in with that? I don't understand the design at all..

the car is a full tube chassis race car. the nose is so low that the huge turbos sit above the fenderline. those pics are old pics casue at the start of the season they switched to even bigger turbos and had to redo the hood to fit them.
