Gauging interest

I have a hardtop ’87 Russet Metallic GTA with an L98 (very rare color). I originally planed to keep the car but I’ve decided I want something else instead. So my question is: Is it smarter to finish the car and sell it or sell it as is? I would let the car go in the current condition for $2,500. So what should I do? The current condition is as follows:

- 114k mi on L98 with top end redone about 15k mi ago
and tuned less than 1k mi ago, runs great.
- was repainted last year but front was hit in storage so
at least the front end needs repainting.
- needs new aerowing
- needs seats and headliner redone

I have the following.
- complete set of new Russet GTA badges.
- new camel color carpet kit from Carmotorsports
- power antenna rebuild kit (I could finish it)
- refurbished front bumper
- door panels have been redone
- new door seals

There may be other things also but I don't remember right now.

I'm not sure this board is the best place to advertise a car for sale. I think most of the people who frequent this site already have a third gen f-body. I would say put it in the Auto Trader or Recycler, and see what interest there is in it.

I agree, most people on here already have their 3rd gen. I was just wondering if 2500 was reasonable for that car including the parts I have for it.

Sounds reasonable to me.

I would try ebay as well, I have been surprised how well 3rd gens are selling, a GTA is certain to get a lot of interest. Also if you have the parts I would finish up the car, that is the best way to get the rest of your money, of course if you are looking for a quick turn around then it might not be worth your effort

I don't agree. Some of the members here are always buying and selling thirdgens and others, like me, are in the market for the right 3rd gen for them if/when they come across it.

I wasn't really suggesting that it is useless to advertise on this board, just that most of the folks here already have their third gen. How many posts have we seen on this board where someone advertises a car on the board, then a week later there is a follow up post that says "I guess no one is interested."
