Don't you hate it when your at the Junkyard and find a TPI engine on a F-BODY and dont have the right tools to remove it!!!!!!!!!! DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!! I removed the bolts on the intake runners only 3 of em!! then gave up!! I only had wrenches and screw drivers and flat heads!!!!! and a crowbar..


I went to ECOLOGY in Wilmington.

Your telling me, I found a perfect TPI on a 305 with 143xxx miles on it and I waited to go back the next day and guess what, the whole thing was gone.

You have got to get it when you see one. For all of the trash talk we get from 4th gen and Vette owners about tpi, it seems to be one of the most popular efi set ups on the market.

I've done that too, thats when I learned to always take extra tools because you never know what you'll come across. I take my 5 gal bucket full of tools straped to a hand truck.

I posted a few days ago on SC3G that there was a TPI a PYP also.

I have a ? There is a TPI unit in a car in the local jy and it is untouched. It is in a GTA but it looks like the engine wires were either melted or there was an engine fire. Would this in anyway damage the TPI unit itself? If not I can still get that one, there is nothing but v6's there and this is the only v8.

I don't think it would damage the tpi unit if it didn't get hot enough to melt the aluminum. It probably took out the various sensors when it took out the harness.

Well I have a 4 banger so the next ? would be, would it be worth my time pulling out whatever is good and being able to sell the good parts?
