Thanks for the link Jerry, and thinking of me.
Unfortunately thought I already know of it and the guy who's selling it is on these boards. That unit is not "new" as he is claiming, it is rebuilt already. It is also obviously for a TBI car or truck (was only smog legal on an S10 truck) and the intake maifold does not have the capabilities for fuel rails to be drilled and fitted. I would have to splice in the TBI and swap computers (probably more to it thatn that even (you know way more than I about tuning). If this were a track only play car? I would do it in a heartbeat. This car was built to be a daily driver and needs to retain smog inspection friendly.
A few years back I was actually thinking on going a surprized and different route with this car after I built the suspension and it responded so well- I started trying to talk the wife into something like a Chysler300, Jaguar typeSr or even a Range Rover. She insisted on not wanting to spend the money on such a car until many more years when the house was finished and paid for. I was trying to bribe her so I could get another play toy since the Vette is just too much trouble to drive on the street--------then I happened upon the '67 Mini Cooper S so I changed my future motive with this car entirely. I ended up even putting a new R134 A/C system on it and the massive cooling system for future daily driving reliabilty... Thats were it s intended use will stay for short term projections (meaning at least the next five years- I just dumped a load of money into a massive house project this year so no new car for a few till this is paid off)
I think what alot of people might not realize about me is most others have normal cars and build play cars on the side, I built even my normal cars and this is one of my two main daily drivers. Rather than going out and buying an commuter import or such, I simply just built an older car into a newer reliable unique daily driver for a family car instead of a minivan or an SUV. Its also some personal attachment to the car through my wife. She likes her Camaro and has personal value to her(memories of a lost uncle, it was his originally). I just still **** and moan when I drive it aprox twice a month and would really like to see it get up a freeway onramp faster, but not by sacrificing the lightweight V6 that makes it such a pleasure to drive effortlessly once at speed (you don't really have to slow down in this car it carries speed effortlessly through corners)
The Paxton centrifical route would be more expensive but must more user friendly I personally think in years of smog checks to come< AND I can get replacement parts when it wears.
