No, just be polite and explain that this is a hardship on vehicle owners both in time and money and will do almost nothing to clean the air.
Its strictly a new tax. it will raise about $100 million a year, but will cost the vehicle owners 6x to 7x that amount in actual cash plus the 3-5 hours to get it done. A depression is not the time to burden citizens with additional fees.
We are now getting more pollution from china than this smog check will reduce. Tell them to cut Chinas pollution thats coming here.

Re: Bill requiring annual testing in CA again

I sent in my emails. Tom's right. They need to go after the 12 million illegals, first. I bet that would make a bigger impact on the state budget, the electricity and water shortage, and cash-strapped hospitals than this bill would.

Did you see the Fox 11 news report the other day showing Dave Jones, the author of this bill, getting egg on his face over a bus examination? He went after a bus company, their buses, and their drivers, using the CHP and several reporters. Apparently he thought the buses and the drivers were not legally registered. When the cops checked everything out, they found the company was 100% legal. What an idiot, and a huge waste of everytime's time and resources. This guy Dave Jones needs a plexiglass hole put into his abdomen so he can see the real world again.

Not likely developing countries will listen to us to spend more money on cleaner technology. But what we can do, is buy American, which will reduce the number of products being made with pollution heavy techniques over in China.
