Few Days Left For The Invasion
Julie we want to see what your car can do at the track with the new motor. I see 12's in the crystal ball. Only a couple of days left. You did well against the 4th gens last year and you will only do better this year.

My beater better run 12's, a 12.9 is all I ask. I don't know if it will do it on street tires though...

Woohoo! I cant wait to see you bust out a 12.99 or better, Julie!
I hope I get something better than my 8 year old ET, too.
Any of you spectators, I think we need someone to drive the truck with the tools and tires in it.

Re: Few Days Left For The Invasion
I know I've probably said this before, but I'm stoked. The cruise and the drag racing will be alot of fun. There are alot of thirdgens that signed up for those 2 events. The last time I had my car at the track it still had the almost stock 305 and ran a best of a 14.5. Made alot of changes since then. Going for 12's which seems to be about where most of you are. Should be some good racing. Hope my car dosen't disappoint me to much.

Re: Few Days Left For The Invasion
Looks like the drag race is sold out with a few extras sold. I had Kevin datalog my car for some wide open throttle runs today. I wanted to fine tune the shift points on the new 4l60E transmission.
Everything is looking good for the Memorial Day races. All that is left for me to do is install the aluminum calipers on the front brakes to lighten the unsprung weight about 8 pounds. So with the new shift points and the weight loss of around 70 pounds from last year I hope to better my times a couple of tenths.
Julie, Don, Kevin should be well into the 12 second bracket. I see some changes to the fastest car list this time around.
Pat McNiel will be there with his nice 1969 Chevelle. He is looking for a 10 second ride. I think he will get it this time around.

Re: Few Days Left For The Invasion
Well turns out I will not be able to make it to this years ROTW Cruise. My sister's graduation from Cal State Fullerton is on this date. I cannot miss that. And I have to work on that Monday so I just want to wish everyone the best of luck out on the track. Can't wait to see those numbers posted on the board.

Re: Few Days Left For The Invasion
I'm going on the cruise. Going to the drags too. Made some test runs with my car over the weekend without the nitrous and broke my trans mount. Got it fixed already. The car is hooking up alot better then I expected. Few more things I want to do to the car before the invasion, but it's good to go the way it is.

Re: Few Days Left For The Invasion
I hope you can make it. I just finnished putting the final piece of the puzzle on my car today. I had the aluminum front brake calipers installed with the upgraded brake pads. So I'm ready to give those 4th gens a hard time.

Looks like the weather will be alittle better then last year for the cruise. So is everybody ready? I'm still working all the little bugs out of my car, and I still have to clean it up.
