A couple years ago my father and I bought a 1986 IROC-Z with 150k miles and a 5.0 TPI/automatic with the plan to fix it up.

We had the front end rebuilt, brakes done, put new front tires on it, new wiring harness, then the economy slowed down and the car hasn't been driven or worked on for a couple years. It passes smog, some of the power stuff works (seat) others don't (window). Radio sounds like crap. We just bought a new battery to make sure it starts and it fired right up. Interior is generally OK with some ugly spots (cracked dash pad & we removed the rotted 24 yr old headliner). Previous owner went "mad max" with the paint job.

Here's a photo of it. The T-tops are fine, working locks, clean glass and everything but roughed up trim like the rest of the car.



I love third gens and still want to fix one up some day so depending on whether this is worth anything we're gonna decide whether we should sell it or just keep it sitting around until we have some extra $$$ to pour into it...
