Greetings all
Hello my name is Jimmy. I'm stationed at Fort Irwin 34 miles outside Barstow. Recently I bought an 86 Z28 and 10 miles after I bought it, it blew both head gaskets. Car has really turned out to be a basket case. But that's okay, I'm swapping in a 350 next weekend. Already bought the motor just gotta put it in. It has 700R4 for now even though the motor will be about 410hp. Anyways just wanted to introduce myself. I really hope to make it to some meets in the future.

Haha yea I earned that nickname in my last unit. I'm a transporter so I drive a lot. Plus I like dirtbikes and sportbikes. Wrecked both kinds and broke my back last year and this year broke my knee, shin, and thumb in a 100mph wreck. But no worries, no stupid stuff on the street. I save it for the track. Also head gaskets did not blow due to me pushing it. It over heated. I didn't check the car over good enough and didn't connect the dots. Never shoulda got it but that's all the past. All we got now is the future. This is also my 3rd 3rd gen Camaro.

Don't let the pictures full you. She needs a whole new front end minus bumper. It's been in a wreck and I didn't notice the passenger side control ARM mount is rewelded onto the car. But frame is straight but fenders are thin and flex a whole lot. And hood was made in Tiwan and is extremely flemsie and doesn't line up exactly. Stuff like that bothers me and will be fixed over time. As far as motor it will be a gen 1 350 block bored .030 over with flat top pistons making 9.8:1 compression. Heads will be cast iron with a 72cc chamber and race valve job. A mild cam and performer intake manifold and 750cfm edlebrock carb. I really wish I could give you more of the specifics on cam duration and such but I'm new to engine performance. I have two of my friends helping me and they both recomended me to this guy named Roy in Hesperia. He has a Dyno in his garage so I would like to assume he is a legit guy. He claims 410hp with this set up. As for transmittion I'm going to have to baby the 700r4 until I can afford a T56 swap. And I'm not sure yet what I wanna do for rear end. But I wanna build the car to be streetable and road course in mind. I'm not a drag racing or street racing guy. And only reason I'm getting the cam to be honest is for the sound. So feel free to call me a ***** lol. But once that is squared away I'm gonna focus hard on chassis and bodywork. Just gotta get her driving again.

Re: Greetings all
Well my engine builder said he could put an even bigger cam in but then I could have brake problems bc the brake booster may not get enough vacuum. Is 340whp too much for the stock 700r4 and stock rear end? And 340whp is more then enough for me. I think a 98 cobra with 264whp is fast lol

Re: Greetings all
Why do I need a new builder? Also I don't have to go threw CA smog. I'm from SC and have SC plates. We don't have smog. But if you wanna get technical once you convert to carb you will not pass smog no matter what.
