STREET RACING post your opinion
Now is your chance to be heard.
Todays, Dec 23, 2001, Orange County Register newspaper has a front page article "O.C. illegal racing....".
They have opened a discussion web site at www.myoc.com/talk/topics
You have to register to reply which is kind of a pain, but it takes less time then waiting at Pomona or Fontana, and I managed to get thru it.
Edit by Kevin: I fixed the link. The system was picking up the period at the end.

I edited the post and fixed the link.
I really really wish we could get Tustin or El Toro opened to us as a temporary drag strip. But like was said on that forum, it'll never happen. Nobody wants to assume the insurance risk, and the land is too valuable. I think its silly. If the auto-x guys can use it, why cant the drag racers? Why not turn El Toro into a legal street racing area? The runways are nice and wide, and street racers dont care about ET's or timing lights. Just let them line up and race each other heads-up. There is a drag strip back east that does this, it was mentioned in an article in GMHTP last year.

Hey Kevin,
All you need to do is show that you have a $5 million insurance policy, show that you police the area, stay only on the road to the site, don't charge addmission for spectators, don't harm any native varmits, nobody under the age of 18 can drive, no pets, no grand stands no speeding on the streets (they do have radar and know how to write tickets ) don't go behind any buildings and you too can go racing there. That's what the autoxers have to do.
