Solved!

After spending $4,000 (more than i paid for the car 3 1/2 yrs ago) on my '91 Firebird at 3 different mechanic shops over the last year and a half, and it still having the same intermittent check engine light/stumbling/stalling/surging from a stop...i finally fixed it last week, in 10 minutes, for $125. Ya know what i did? replaced the 7 year old battery that spent the first half of its life in subzero temperature Montana and the last half in the rarely below 100 degree California desert. I feel like such a dork, but so happy to have it running perfectly again. Getting new bf goodrich radial t/a's (235's on front, 255's on back) taking the stupid decal off the hood, gettin' some badass exhaust tips...Yaaaaaayyyy

Re: Solved!

I totally understand...I've chased problems where the symptoms point to a part that I thought couldn't possibly be the culprit. I research and fix other stuff and in the end I'm kicking myself after replacing that one part I thought was OK.

As I grow older my daily check list gets longer.

1. Don't pass up a bathroom
2. Never trust a fart
3. Don't waist a hard on

recent additions:

Check all grounds
Just replace the battery
