I never knew if this was a for sale thread or a build thread. Seems you are keeping it now so I guess it's a build thread. I've enjoyed watching your progress. Better than a stalled build thread where the car never gets finished and you never know what happened.
You just keep making progress chipping away at it little by little. Carry on.
You seem very crafty about obtaining your parts too. Seems like sometimes you have new parts bought and installed and somehow came out money to the good in your favor.

Yes, initially my goal was to fix & flip but that 5-speed really grew on me since my other two Firebirds are automatic. Lot’s of benefits to that AutoZone Limited Lifetime Warranty and since this is a budget build I’m very cost conscience.
Hurst Billet Competition Shifter is breaking-in nicely! Replaced the OEM vinyl Shift Boot with a leather version from The Tuning Shop in the UK. The Rubber Shift Boot and Screws that seal the floor were also replaced. Considered an additional Rubber Shift Boot to minimize heat but will reconsider that when replacing the Carpet.
2001 Camaro SS Center Console is from my first Trans AM, a 1990. I'll need to modify the Window Switches to fit into the Ash Tray or extend the wiring to reach the Storage Area above the Shifter...
Who cares if he's selling or not. It's the only activity in here.
Did all of the So. Cal 3rd genners die or did they all trade up to Teslas? Heck, even when you post a reply asking info about something, they don’t respond back. I guess everyone is dead, then. 🪦 RIP So. Cal third genners.

Are you high? What the heck are you talking about, I ain’t dead. All glory to God, life is good!
Back in the day, circa 2012 to be exact... I purchased an Aluminum Drive Shaft from TGO for my first Trans AM, a 1990 which was never installed so Ive rebuilt it for use on this vehicle.
This is picking nits here but your MAP sensor is mounted incorrectly on the firewall/cowl. The screws need to go through the holes on the side of the sensor where the electrical connector is at. This style of MAP sensor is meant to be mounted with the vacuum nipple facing down so that any combustion gases lingering in the sensor element area will come back down the nipple and into the vacuum hose when the engine is shut off so as to not foul the sensor element.
If you mounted it that way for looks to hide the wiring some then A-OK.

Someone else mentioned this exact same thing on another one of my Firebird's but I'm almost certain it's OEM...

Sorry for the downer, but if you look at aged vehicles for sale, some in CA are.the usual (unfinished, worn out) but some failed emissions and nature ends up placing them with their new owner in non-metro areas of AZ. So I do cringe at EGR delete. I bought an L69 car in CA and it passed dyno roller tests for 18yrs.

Valve guide seals at 159k need replaced. I did them on an LG4 with more mileage and cut startup smoke and oil burning to next to nothing.
I couldn’t find an Oil Pressure Switch that matched the original dimensions. All the replacements seem to be longer in length thus interfering with the Carburetor bracket. I trimmed it a little but may need to reassess when I upgrade the Intake Manifold…
I received a lot of compliments on the Mickey Thompson ET Street Tires from Post #35 but I needed something a bit more practical. So, I replaced them with a set of BFGoodrich COMP T/A VR4's.
USED Tires $176.59
Mounting & Balancing and Tire Disposal $50.00
Carburetor choke was malfunctioning, resulting in a high idle. So, I took it over to Freddy's Carburetor to see if it was related to the recent Clutch & Flywheel service, but he said no.
Labor $100.00
The engine is smoking on startup pretty bad I'll definitely need to address that but I'm also looking at options for a 350ci swap...
You're in Southern California and don't have a proper fan shroud.
How can you NOT be overheating?
No Upper Fan Shroud but I do have the Lower Fan Shroud + Heavy Duty Water Pump (post #22) + 160F Thermostat (post #21) + Heavy Duty Fan Clutch (post #32) even though it hasn’t been hot but I’ll keep y’all updated for Summer 2025
