Just scored some slotted 1LE rotors...

I just closed the deal on some slotted 1LE rotors on eBay. One part checked off my 1LE list. Next should be the carriers and brackets from Steve Spohn.

I can check my supplier to see if I can still ge tthe deal on COMPLETE caliper setups. The complete setup is a NEW caliper, bracket, and PBR pads. $175 each side plus a single piston caliper core.

I was thinking of offer a complete change over kit . Complete 12" 1LE change over kit would be about $675 plus ship and tax to CA orders. what you'd get is calipers, caliper brackets, adapter bracket (to attach caliper to modded spindle), PBR pads, rotors, bearings, seals, rubber hoses and instructions. For those that are challenged, I can even offer it with spindles but that would more cash of course. Maybe about $875 total for that. What them powder coated? add another $75.

Anybody interested? If so I can front the cash to get at least 3 setups. Interested in rear change over? I can do that too?

I'm upfront and I don't deal with bull****. If you are truly interested drop me a line.

I've been thinking about this for awhile.

Barry,
By bracket, do you mean the caliper carrier OR the bracket that attaches to the spindle? The carreirs are the hard to find pieces. What about the hoses? I'd need a set of factory hoses so I can use the fittings to have steel braided lines made.

$675 is a pretty good price for the complete kit less spindles. Anyone know what a pair of spindles would cost at Pick-A-Part?

what I refer to is the caliper bracket is actually the caliper slide and yes it is the so called hard to find part. The adapter bolts to the caliper slide and the modded caliper. those are custom made from heat treated mild steel and are just like the ones Guldtrand used to sell.

the hoses are factory but just longer to work with the PBR caliper.

Maybe I'll get a complete setup and then lay it all out so you can see what you get. I'm sure I can sell one and at least recoupe my cost

Thanks

Barry, thanks for doing the "leg work" on this for all of us. I know many of us are very interested in upgrading to 1LE brakes. I would really like to have 4 piston calipers on my IROC but the cost is something that is just a bit too high, coupled with the fact that most aftermarket kits from manufacturers like Wilwood and Baer require you use 17" or larger rims and I plan on sticking with the stock rims.

no problem. I did the "leg work" originally for myself as I upgraded my 91 RS front to the PBR setup and then to the rear when I swapped the entire rear end for built 10 bolt.

I looked at the other brake options and most co's are using the PBR caliper in a similiar setup. GM did it right on this brake setup for the 3G's and repair parts are easy to find.

I hate getting locked into a since source manufacturer like Baer or Wilwood. The front pads from Will for the funny car I used to crew on where only avail from them and they were $100 for these 2" pucks made of so-so friction.
