You can't "tub" a third gen without doing a complete back half suspension swap. The rear inner fenders are already at the "frame rails" so you can't move the inner fenders in any more.

You can do a bit of a mini tub by removing the bumpstop and sectioning in a bit more inner fender at the front of the wheel well.

how do you go about mini tubbing? is it a kit you can buy, or should i take the car to a body shop? i'm thinking that if i can't bring the tires in any more it's probally not worth doing then?

I've also got the 17x11 in the back and I didn't tub the car. It's really not necassary. Just to a little molding work with a sledge hammer and roll or cut the lip off you fender to from slicing the tire when you hit a bump with passengers in the back. And if you want to be able to jack up the car without the wheels hanging on the bump stop then take it off and grind the mount off. I've got mine in to where the 315/35-17 is 1/4" away from the trailing arm and the tire doesn't stick out beyond the fender well. Everyone has told me that it looked good. Hope this helped.

As of right now, no. I haven't decided whether or not I want to yet. All my friends think it looks tough with the stance that it has. If I do lower it, it would only be a max of 1.5 inches. But like I said. I haven't decided yet. If your worried about clearence, I had the same wheels and tires on my RS which was lowered and I didn't have any problems with that car and I did the same thing.

Hope this helped.......Later

Actually I have sold the car since this post. But I will see if I have a picture of it. You can also look at askulte's car. He also had the 17x11' on his car.
