HELP Brakes gone bad

Coming home from work last night my brakes started grabbing when I wasn't touching the pedal.I pulled into a gas station to check it ouit and I could barely stop, and the brakes were smoking like a train.....

The pedal is very hard and when pushed will hardly stop the car.
I don't know if it's the master cylinder or what..Any suggestions?

Thanks,Brian

Well, I just recently went through the same problem. I had replaced rotors and pads last Sept, so I knew they were not the problem. Yesterday I replaced the calipers (did both sides), still have the problem. Today I'll replace the brake lines on both sides. I'll let you know what happens tonight. While I have the car up in the air, I'll also replace the starter (again for the 4th time) - darn heat soak problem. Got a heat shield and absestos blanket to wrap the solinios and starter in.

Good luck with your brakes.

Well, finally got the brake hoses replaced, and man, what a difference. No more pulling or dragging brakes. WORKS GOOD AS NEW!!
