Is this how a blown strut sounds?

A week ago, if I ride over a rode with little bumps in it, I'll hear a hollow thud from the front driver's side tire- but I won't feel anything. I thought something was loose in the engine compartment, but all seems normal. The struts were replaced in '96... over 100,000 miles later, I was going to replace them this summer. Just curious if this is the sound they make!

Hehe, I guess "lifetime warranty" didn't mean past 100,000 miles, eh?

Uh, instead of "a week ago", it should say "ever since a week ago, whenever I ride over a road with bumps in it, I hear this noise". Yes, the noise is still there.
