Polyurethane bushings

I have an 89 GTA and are looking for info. Are my suspension bushings already polyurethane? I think someone told me as much. If they are I don't really see the need for replacing them, but if they're not I would like to replace them with some. So please any insight would be greatly appreciated.

From the factory we have rubber. Aftermarket companies use either poly or polygraphite.

Inspect all of the bushings. If they are severly deformed and/or are cracking then replace them. Rubber is fine, if you want performnace, go with the ploygraphite but it can sweak a bit.

I've got an 89 GTA and I'm in the process of chaning to poly. Best thing you'll do as far as suspension to tighten things up. Keep them lubbed up nicely and you won't have problems with noise.

thanks guys, I guess I was misinformed about the bushings. What kit(manufacturer) are you installing?

Actually, some cars did come from factory with at least some poly (we had this discuss some months back on the History Board, if I recall correctly). My 85 IROC did absolutely come stock with poly end links. Currently, I'm running 1LE sway bars. I purchased the poly end links and higher durometer bushings directly from GM.
