heavy duty suspension
heavy duty suspension
What's the difference between a heavy duty suspenion and standard suspenion. Went to AutoZOne to get front wheel bearings and was asked if I have a heavy duty suspension or a standard suspension? I have a 1989 IROC-Z with four wheel disk brakes(stock)not LE1 package.....I was under the impression that the only difference that year was the 1LE package?
I agree with SB. It sound to me the Autozone clerk is the confused one for not knowing that the Iroc Camaro is GM's heavy duty sport model. Its hard to find good and informed customer service help anymore.

I have an 89 Iroc (4 wheel disk) as well and have found that the 1LE is ocassionally refered to as heavy duty suspension. The only reason I can think of is the larger brakes of the 1LE, along with multi piston calipers, leads someone to "simplify" 1LE to heavy duty. Why, I do not know.
The Iroc's came with the larger sway bars and different spring rates, but in my experience they are referring to the 1LE. With wheel bearings, 1LE's have a different spindle and rotor, so that may necesitate different wheel bearings.
I agree, it is really hard to find knowledgable help at the discount stores (not imposible, but rare).
