disc brakes in front, durms in back question???

When I change my front brake pads, do i have to bleed the whole brake system ( all 4 brakes)? I have disc's in the front and drums in the back. I was told that i only have to bleed the front brakes since they are a separate system?

When you change pads you don't "have" to bleed anything unless you break the system open for some reason, which is usually not necessary. But it's always a good idea to bleed them all whenever you work on them, keeps them working as well as they can.

Bleeding the brakes as a part of maintainence is a good idea, just to get old and possibly contaminated brake fluid out of the system.
