Rear disc pad install Q...

I just installed my new EBC pads in my PBR rear calipers. When I took the old ones out, they had H-shaped shims glued to the pad between the pad and the piston actuator assembly. My new pads did not come with any shims. Do I need these?

Also, do I really need to do the adjustment that "zeroes" the pads? This is done by adjusting a very small allen screw located opposite the e-brake plunger rod, if you understand what I'm getting at then you know what I'm talking about.

Any help appreciated.

Ed, getting oh soo close...

please explain that thing about zeroing the rear calipers. I have the PBR rear's and I just replace pads with out doing anything else.

and about the shims. that is just to stop squeaking. they seperate from the pads when you beat on the brakes badly, they they don't come out with the pads.

I'll get the instructions from the rebuild kit and copy what they say. It sounds like a pain in the ****, but they say it "must" be done. I don't think half the people out there even try, but I had to ask.

As for the shims, that's all I needed to hear.

Thanks!!

Ed, anxious to pack bearings..(?)
