Here is all you have to do (with my system).
1) Remove the axles.
2) Remove everything that has anything to od with the drum brakes. Drum brake backing plates, all the brake lines on the axle, etc. The large anchor bolt that goes through the backing plate and axle flange can be espially difficult to remove.
3) Modify the axle flange to the disc brake configuration. this involves cutting the top of the old drum brake axle flange off, and drilling new holes in it. I have a template that helps locate the cut, and the upper holes precisely.
4) Install a (my) spacer, shim, and disc brake backing plate.
5) Reinstall the axles.
6) Install the rotors, calipers, new brake lines, new parking brake cables. Bleed the brakes, and drive.
I will soon have a "CD" available that will illustrate the entire process, along with the 1LE front brake upgrade.
I have attached a sample image from the "CD". It has been reduced to about 1/2 size to fit this format.
Thanx,ANDYZ28
