How to get better traction at the track

What kind of mods can I do to get the power to the groud. I have a bit of a problem with traction at the track. I can only manage to pull of a 2.514 60ft time. What kinda mods will give me better traction.

SFCs, LCA relocation brackets, aftermarket adjustable torque arm, box your control arms or go aftermarket, poly bushings, air bags, slicks

Everything ede said. All the suspension stuff helps eliminate chassis and suspension flex.

The best way to increase traction is slicks. Street tires may work good on the street but they're way to slippery for the drag strip. Even a stock suspension car will hook up a lot better with just slicks.

A way to increse tractoin and help trap speed is to raise the front tire pressure to the tires max (usually around 45-50psi) then lower the back (I've found 25-28psi to work good) Try to tune the back yourself though. Kinda counts on what tires you have. Different tread patterns and tire sizes will affect how much you should lower the back.

You could slip in some "e/t Improver Plates" from Top-Down Solutions. They mount in the left front between the sway bar bracket and the frame. The kit consists of 2 spacers (1/8" & 1/4" thick) of machined that match the bolt pattern of the brackets. The plates help to transfer load from the front of the car to the right rear tire. Both e/t and 60' times will improve as a result. Price is $15, but they are on SALE until 7/31 for $12.75. E-mail me at topdownsolutions@yahoo.com to order a set or for more info. I've got the whole worn out factory suspension thing going on, with my 245/60-15 radials at 18psi and a burn out that would make John Force hang his head I could get a best of 2.01 short times. Just changing over to the Hoosier Quick time DOT slicks at 15psi dropped it to 1.90. Which I don't think is unreasonable for a factory set-up, I'm anxious to get a little steeper gear back there and see what happens, would like to be in the low 1.8's. I did'nt put my rear sway bar back on when I switched rears (busted the u-bolts) which in theory would hurt me, but I don't see a problem yet.
