Gear box question

I have a 88 firebird, LO3 motor, 5 speed. I can't find the RPO code so I am not sure what kind of sus I have. All I know is that I have the performance suspension badge. I was wondering what gears I have in my gear box, and how hard is it to replace? I was thinking about going to a scrap yard and getting a T/A's if it is better than what I have. I did a search but couldn't find the answer I was looking for. Any help, links to a better search. Just had a thought and who better to ask. Thanks.

If you have the performance suspensoion badge and its not a ws6 is it probably the mid grade suspension. I think there was level 1-3. In my 85 ta I had the midgrade suspension stock and it had the fast ratio box so it is possible you do to. I think there is supposed to be a z or one other leter cast into your steering box if it is the quick ratio. You were talking about your steering box right? One thing you could upgrade probably though(other than shocks, struts and springs) would be your swaybars. Maybe someone else will have more info.

Yes I am stupid, I should have looked up steering box not gear box. I couldn't think of the name for some reason. This can be closed.
