hey guys,
ok i decided to get my car a complete susp. make-over. rather get my car done before i start working on the new engine...so this is what im going w/. energy susp. bushings all around, eibach sportline spring kit ( plan on getting bigger rims later, so dont want to worry about rubbing ), i want to go w/ adjustable shocks..but not sure what kind, i want new struts... who makes the best aftermarket struts?, new upper and lower control arms, torque arm, performance sway bars, and weld in sfc. anything i left out, be sure to put in. price is not a problem, so i want the best qualitly. give me what you would consider a sweet @** set up. the car is all stock as of now, but soon i'll be putting in a bigger engine, so i want it to be able to hook and turn w/ the best before i even work on the engine..... doing my project slow, but want everything to be the best possible.
thanks

If money is no concern I'd head to Global West (www.globalwest.net).

i'd buy spohn SFCs, torque arm, and LCA erloacation brackets. might want to consdier a 12 bolt or 9" from moser. there have been a few people report problems with hood clearance when using es poly trans and motor mounts. i'd get a tube k member and rack steering too, since momney isn't an issue for you, i think i just spent around 5000 dollars for you.

I was out there last week at Global West and was b.s.ing with Doug who develops all of their new products. They are currently in design for front lower A-Arms for 3rd Gen. Camaro's and he advised me they should hit the market bythe start of next year. I don't know how many people know about these guys products and custom work, but these guys build parts second to none. There a-arms for anyother vehicles they currently make them for are strong enough to hold up a tank! They will also set you up with Del-a-lum bushings if you want them.Originally posted by BretD 88GTA

He also told me that they also have a Coilover Koni setup Designed for the 4th gen's coming out sooner than the a-arm project. Point being is that the rears in this kit will work on a 3rd gen. We discussed the strength issue of the upper rear mount point because the weight of the car will sit on the I-bolt or stud mount of the coilver rather than the flat can area right next to the upper shock mount. He told me they are working on that problem and will probably offer some kind of bracket support to distribute the load back to that area.
Trick stuff. Watch their web site towards the end of the year for more details.
yeah, i forgot about the k member. i was going to get a tubular k member for it, get rid of some of that weight in the front. i dont want to go w/ rack and pinoin, i like my power steering the way it is. do aftermarket stuts make a big difference? no matter what i would prob get new ones cuz my car is 20 years old now, and everything but trans is original.

I Like the Global West stuff too. Been running the Del-A-Lum bushings for years.

If your '82 is anything like mine, the door hinges are probably worn completely out. As you may know, on our cars the upper door hinge and door itself are actually structural components of the body integrity.
After I repaired my door hinges, and then installed Spohn SFCs it was like a whole new car.
Just a thought.
