Do I need new Springs?

Last night I put my KYB GR-2 Struts in the front. While I was in there, I replaced the broken Torsion Bar Bolt.

After unbolting the Strut from the Strut Tower, I then Lowered the A-arm with the jack that was holding it up. The darn think almost hit the floor, and the car was pretty darn high too.

Alright this is where the question comes from ...

Instead of jacking the A-arm back up, I grabbed where the ball joint is and just pulled it up myself. it wasn't easy, but I was able to lift up about 4 inches compressing the spring and hold it until my dad could get a jack stand under it.

Does this mean I need new springs??? If I was able to lift them myself, couldnt' they stand to be replaced? I hope not, because I was JUST In there and doing it all again would annoy me.

thanks
