steering wheel goes crazy

Recently when i have been driving (84 TA), and i hit a bump arond 40 mph. The wheel starts to shake back and fourth very badly. I have to come to almost a full stop to stop it. It is not good I almost lost control a few times.
Any Ideas.
Thanks Matt

Could be alot of things. I would say "something loose in the front suspension". Jack it up and check all the suspension parts, or have a shop to an 'estimate' on it. Most will do it for free.
