Which Strut Tower Brace?
I am going to be purchacing a STB and SSM subframe connectors within a couple weeks and need to know which one is better, BMR 3-piont or Edelbrock 3-point? I know that I do not want a two point one, and it's down to one of these two. Any opinions or have I overlooked an even better option. The nice thing about the Bmr one is I can get it red from them, with the Edelbrock I'll have to have it powdercoated red. But if the BMR is a piece of $hit, I'll just deal with having to re-color one. Thanks for your help.

i would get the kenny brown STB.
it is the same price from thunderracing as the BMR.
i don't like the fact that you bolt that run to the firewall on to the brace, the kenny brown just looks like a much higher quality unit.

Dewey316-I think you might be right about the KB bar, but what I don't like about it is that it's all welded together. Good for strength, bad for working around it. My brother has the Edelbrock one and loves it because you don't have to take the mounting brackets off when you need to move it out of the way to gain access (also one of my hangups with the BMR one). The Bmr one though, you can remove the triangulating rods if need be. Since my car only does the OCCASIONAL AutoX and some hard corners in the hills, I just dont think the KB is for me. Of course I could be wrong and if anyone has one let me know how you like it. After a little mor looking, I think that BMR one is a heap of $hit with pretty flimsy looking mounting tabs for the 3rd point bars, not to mention the rods that go to the Firewall look weak too. Any other opinions would be appreciated.

well from my experiance, i have the 3 point edelbrock for carbed cars (all welded), so it is probably vertualy identical to the KB peice
it is very easy to take off to work on the engine. maybe even easier than the peices with the removable side peices, i have 4 bolts that are all easy to access and the whole thing comes off (minus the actualy mounts to the strut towers.)
now if you have descided that the welded peice is not for you, than i am not going to try to talk you into it, but if it was my money i would spend it getting the best made peice i could with it.

Good point. The one for the TPI cars, the cross bar has 2 thru bolts and 2 bolts that hold the rods on the cross piece. The mounting brackets stay on the car (like the Hotchkis one). I may just get the KB one, since it has no points for wear. I do appreciate the thoughts and experience points.

not a problem, i just think that for the money you will be more pleased in the long run with the KB peice
