What cars and gear ratios came in POSI for the 82-84 model years??? I want a stock unit, for a 3 series carrier.

Yes.
The L69 cars had 3.73 gears, and some had the optional posi.
That said: You'll have alot easier time coming up with a SLP late-model posi and a 6-cylinder rear end to get late-model axles out of, and it will be a better setup to boot.

Her's what I did to....
My RS. I put some Richmond 3.23's in it, upgrading from the stock 2.73 ratio. Then I got a Posi unit out of a 305 TPI auto car for 50 bucks and stuck it in there.
What would be the easiest way to go. I have 3.73's and I want to keep the gears but get some posi going on. I just bought some new rubber so I don't want to fry one tire.
Can I get the same new model unit, grab some axles from a newer model unit from pick a part and put them into my housing? Will they fit? I thought that beside the spline # being different, the ring gear was also a different size.
I am definately not swapping housings, I have rear discs.
I hope I don't sound dumb or anything but I just can't spit out the spline # diff. and ring gear sizes, I can't remember. I install all this stuff myself.
