Suspension mods
Are LCA brackets going to help my handling or just my launch? Should I replace my factory torque arm w/poly bushing with a good aftermarket unit? Is it okay to mix and match parts, ie; hotchkis, spohn, suspension techniques..?, Affordable sfc, stb, and panhard bar? Poly bushing kit, how hard are they to install myself? Should I replace my boxed LCA's with tube unit's. Good shocks and strut's to get? I want to solo cross, so I need to get dialed in.
if they help launching they will most likely help with handling.
the factory torque arm should work well with auto cross, but if your running lots of power and doing drag racing buy a better one.
mix matching parts is ok.. stay with sophn for like the sfc's, and lca brakets..
go with like an eldbrock stb.
and lakewood lower control arms are good.. boxed lca's are better than the stock u shaped ones..
you can get good shocks and struts at www.tirerack.com
since your doing solo cross with alot of turning and stuff, i would stay with rubber bushings over poly, and instead of poly bushing get spherical bearings where applicable..
also since your doing alot of turning and putting alot of stress around the steering box, i would get a wonderbar (which is kinda like a strut tower bar for the lower frame rails where the steering box connects to the frame)...
i dont know that much about solo cross, but maybe others do and can see if i told you anything wrong; but i am trying to help..

Don't forget about better springs and bigger sway bars.Bigger and wider wheels/tires are also a big factor when it comes to grip. There are other things that will help in your solo-crossing also, like relocating the battery to the rear and shaving a few pounds.

Also, better brakes will let you brake later and go deeper into the turns, provided you have sufficient grip(wider and stickier tires).

Well as my sig says, I've got the bigger rims and rubber, 17x8's and 17x9's, but i'm switching tires sizes at next replacment, 245, 45ZR17, and 275,40ZR17. I think I might use suspension techniques springs and global west sway bars. Spohn does'nt make sfc's for my application yet.... I may go with Kenny Browns, and one of his stb's as well. What are a affordable good set of shock & struts?
