Steering????

The rubber boot, in the red circle, on my steeing shaft has a huge split in it, cant see it in the picture its underneith. Its as big as the red shaded area. Is this a big deal? Should I be worried and replace it?

Not really... they often do that.

There's a universal joint sort of thing up in there though, looks alot like a mini FWD CV joint, make sure it stays well greased and reasonably clean.

On my car that joint has a lot of play in it, you can move the shaft up and down quite a bit. Do they make a replacement?

IIRC when you buy the "lower shaft" you get everything between that one bolt just above it, and the gear box.
