Good, inexpensive gas shocks?

Anyone have any ideas on what kind of shocks I should go with, I am looking for some better performance, but I dont have a lot of money.

I got" heavy duty touring shocks" from the chevy dealer,$82 front $26 rear each, huge improvement over old whatever shocks, quite firm.
