we cant use subframe connectors from a fourth gen, can we??

cause i find 4th gen ones on ebay real cheap, but no 3rd gen ones. thanks.

nope, not interchangeable, and it's SFC, not SBC (small block chevy). Alston makes some weld in ones for under $100 but i've heard you have to cut your floor for them. they also makes some bolt in ones for about $200 that you don't have to cut your floor for and can then weld them in place. it's not recommended to only bolt them in because the bolt holes can elongate over time. spohn's new tubular ones just came out for $185, lighter than boxed ones and should be just as strong

haah SBC... i have too much on my mind. damn. ill have to keep checking ebay then. im too cheap for that. do a lot of people fab their own???

If you can weld, SFC's are about $10 worth of material

1 length 1"x2" square tubing- $5.65
1.cutting wheel blade- $4.00
Box of welding rods- $11

A welding shop might build you some for cheaper.. ask around.

where do you get that tubing? a regular hardware store, or a specialty shop?? im not really sure exactly where the SFCs need to run and where they need to connect. i have seen them in catalogs, but most pics of them installed i have seen are not exactly clear.

Goto a steel supplyer store. They would be easily found in the yellow pages. All you need is about 12ft (1 length) of mildsteel 1"x2" 1/8 wall square tubing.

measure the distance between the two subframes on your car. There's a subframe where the tranny crossmember bolts to and extends to right behind the front fender. At the back, weld to the subframe where the LCA's bolt on. Build yourself some 'landings' so you can get the square tubing to fit nicer and you can get more weld on. So find yourself some scrap 4" flatbar too.
