Clunking Sounds from new front suspension???/Rear susp. ?'s
Hey!
Something's been bugging my about my '84 TA...I've got a brand new 350 in it (not bugging me, well except for the oil leaks
) I've got a T-56 in it (definitely not bugging me at all!) and I've got all new everything in the front suspension, which is bugging me....Absolutely everything up front is new, aside from the control arms, springs, k-memeber, and spindles, this includes Energy Suspension poly bushings, ball joints, wheel bearings, rotors, calipers, steel braided brake hoses, control arm nuts and bolts, ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING that is even remotely involved in the front suspension is brand new, and yet, when I drive down the road and hit bumps the whole front end of the car rattles and clunks. It sounds almost like it needs new ball joints really bad, but the ball joints are brand new! (Federal Mogul if my memory serves me correctly) I just don't understand this!!!
If anybody has any thoughts on this I'd appreciate hearing them very much!!!!
Also I am going to do my rear suspension soon, and was just wondering what people recommend...new LCA's? just new bushings? I'm definitely getting new springs....what about brakes? I went stock on the front, that's the way I'm leaning on the rear too (rear disc brakes) but I'm open to suggestions. Also panhard bars, etc. etc. etc. Any and all suggestions are welcome!
Thanks so much for any and all help!!!!

Check your pads and make sure they're not rattling in the calipers. That can make an obscene amount of noise. Drive down a bumpy road where you know the car makes the noise, and see if it goes away when you step on the brakes.

Thanks for the thought....I'll definitely check that. I did use lots of that disc brake quiet stuff when I installed the pads, but maybe it didn't adhere, I dunno....I'll check into it!
Any other thoughts?
