Very rough ride, Better shocks?

Hi all I have a couple of questions. I bought a 89 pontiac t/a a few months ago and im not sure if it has the ws6 suspension. It says performance suspension on the passenger side dash. The problem im having is it rides very rough over bumps and railroad tracks etc.. Maybe this is normal for this car. Is there better aftermarket shocks that i could get for my car that would make it ride better and not so harsh? Also how much should i expect to pay a mechanic to pull my driveshaft off? I need th check to see if its balanced alright. Any info would be appraciated thanks

Welcome to the the hard ride of a performance supension, which is NORMAL. You maybe be able to find Shocks & Struts for a softer
ride but you would compermise the handling. Didn't you know this before you bought the car.

Also why do you think the dr shaft needs balancing??? Your car may also have the alum dr shaft which rarely get out of balance.

I would learn to live with supension and be like the rest of us, go slow over railroad track and other road inperfections.

Im willing to sacrifice some handling for a better ride, I have vibration at high speeds that why im going to get my drive shaft checked out.

Its common for the steel dr shafts to vibrate at speed.
And if you have the steel one I would replace it with a Alum one.
By the time you pull the shaft and Balance it , the cost may be half of the Alum dr shaft.
