88 to 89+ rear disk swap
Ok I have a 88 IROC and want to switch to the 89 and new prb brake's. I can buy the rotor's pad's and caliper's at the local parts store but what do I need to be able to get these to bolt on? Thanks for the help. btw I have attached a pic of my car at a loca burnout contest where I got 1st place and tore up my ****y rear breaks because I have yet to buy a line lock.

No one has replying to this because the answer to your question is easily found by searching. You can buy the kit from andyz28.
What you need:
- New proportioning valve
- Maybe need a new master cylinder
- Rotors
- Calipers
- Caliper mounting brackets
- Backing plates GM part #’s 10136854 & 10136853
- Shims to shim the backing plates (get them from andyz28)
- You will need to modify the rear end housing as show in this tech article https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/t...reardisc.shtml
Also check this out:

I may have missed something, but it gives you a good idea of what you need.

Just the rears right? You'll need a master cylinder from or for a disc/drum car, and I recommend a new prop valve. You'll need the first design because you have an '88. I did the same swap pretty much, but put 1LEs up front. Some guys will tell you that you don't need to do anything, but I disagree.
You will need part numbers 18014286 for the master clyinder and 14086496 for the prop valve. If going new, call Dal at Van Devere Olds, he'll help you out.

PS... Backing plates are different (for 9 and 10 bolts) unless you get them from Andy.
