I have an 89 gta with the v8 but i found out it had been previousely wrecked and the chassis is bent. i am planning on finding a good body and chassis use in place of the one that is on my car. i was wondering if the body pieces and chassis are different on a regular firebird than on a gta. i need to find out in a hurry because there is an 89 v6 firebird with a good chassis and body for sale that i am interested in. if you can help i'd appreciate it.

exactly what i was thinking. you really dont have a chassis. you have a subframe car. the only part of your unibody that is very easily changed is the front frame stub, which could still be a pain. depending on where damage is, you may have to do a swap of your driveline into another car

 

You are Out Of Luck with a Uni-Body car that does not have a frame. Only the sheet metal parts such as the fenders, doors, hood, hatch and etc can be used. The rest is a welded togther shell which cannot be removed.

 

I think maybe he wants to swap the trans am motor and appearance stuff onto the bird ?
