steering play-help!
Hi!
When at highway speeds I have trouble keeping the car in a straight line, I ned always to adjust left-right...
I've checked out all steering components(tie rods, drag link, pitman arm, steering box, etc) and everything seems to be fine. Yet, on the rods wich come thru the firewall and goes into the steering box there's some kind of joint and a bolt/nut.
there is the play.
Anyone knows what's the name and if it can be tighten-up? Only the dealer has those parts?
Also, I have a cracked pulley(on the steering pump) wich I have to change (hope I'll find in scrap one)...
Thanks alot for any input!
PS: the car is a '89 GTA 350 tpi

checked again the whole thing out and seems that the rag joint was fine. there is a bolt on the upper shaft (just before the firewall) who just needed to be tightened some more.
can't wait to test drive the car on 1st april!
Thanks for the help!

sorry, don't have a digital camera...
it was my mistake, in fact I tightened a NUT, not bolt. the bolt can't be tightened, it has a round head, like a rivet.
this one bolts the intermediate shaft to the steering column.
I guess it's 14 or 15 the size of the nut.
I stil can take a pic with a regular 35 mm camera, but that will take longer to develop and scan the pic...
if still interested send me an e-mail
thanks
