Drum to disc swap questions and help.
I've got an '87 base model bird with drum brakes.
I work at a garage and my boss is letting me strip his '87 trans am.
I'm not sure if I'll be able to get the rear but if I get the disc brake assembly would anyone be able to tell me roughly what I have to do?
Do I need to weld up a bracket or do I have to cut or modify my rear differential?
I'll post a pic of my current setup later today.

I would not bother putting on iron caplier disc brakes. No one seems to like them, even when they work right. Either go with the 89-92 aluminum PBR setup (sometimes called the 1LE rear brakes) or with newer LS1 brakes. Heres a tech article. https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/t...reardisc.shtml

For your average driver who has hopped his Camaro up to run in the 13s or 14s, the drum brakes are fine, IMHO.
Mine stop me in short order, so I just don't even feel the urge to change over to disks
