Does anyone know what this is?


as opposed to a 92 stoc axel on a 305 tbi rs model and or
a 92 z28 5.7L package.

was it a cop car part which would be better then the z28

g92 is the performance rear axle. I have it on my TA. It is a borg warner 9 bolt rear end w/ 3.27 gears and posi.. I'm not sure if its the same for all years.. But hopefully that will help.

 

G92 for Camaros is 3.42 (5 speed) and 3.23 (Auto).

 

If it's a 9-bolt it will be 3.27 (auto) and 3.45 (manual) for camaros and firebirds. I don't know if in 92 you could get the 9 bolt or not.

also for some years G92 cars had the dual cats and oil cooler added along with the axle.

 

1989 was the last model year using the 9-bolt for G92 RPO with 3:45 & 3:27. Later model years used the 10- bolt 3:42 & 3:23.
Other items required with the G92 also changed each year.
