Power steering trouble?

I just took my car out of storage and fired it up for the first time yesterday, once it was started I went to back it out of the garage and as I backed it up I tried to turn the steering wheel and it wouldn't move for a second and then it broke free and I could move the wheels. After the car had cooled down I started it up again to move it back into the garage and the same thing happened except less severe this time. I tried moving the wheel back and forth to see if I could hear any noise from the power steering pump but it sounded fine. It does seem to take alot of effort to move the wheel but maybe I've forgetten what it feels like to steer a car with wide front tires. This seems to happen after the car cools down, and only occurs during the first wheel movement after a cold start, the problem is not evident while driving. Is my power steering pump going south? If not what could it be?

That's pretty common in all cars with the steering system these cars have, has been since they started using it in the 60s. It's just one of those things. It's caused by something in the gear not working smoothly, from stuff that accumulates in there from sitting around.

It usually clears up when the car gets used more regularly.
