He has to be referring to installing air shocks to replace the back shocks. Many will tell you not to do this because the upper shock mount is not meant to be supporting the load that these will put on it. Also it will raise the rear suspension and the front will stay at the same height. This makes the car look ugly in my opinion.

Yep, the guy has no clue what he's talking about. Besides, you've got struts in the front. I've run the Gabriel hi-jacker air shocks in the rear since '94 to raise the back end- and blew out both my upper shock mounts. I bolted a 1/4" of steel back there to fix them as they blew out; they haven't budged since then. I'm tired of the large-rear-tire and raised-rear look; this summer the car's getting normal shocks in the back, and lowering springs.

Besides- even worse- putting an air shock in won't lower the car. Ride height is controlled by the SPRING, not the shock. A shock just dampens the spring so the car doesn't bounce like crazy after you hit a dip in the road.

If he was talking about an air suspension, that's different... do a search on this forum for air and you'll find a recent discussion about air bags. That's an air spring. I don't know why he wanted to lower the front and not the rear.

theres lots of different kinds out there....I just got my DropZone Springs in,,,,you can see pics of mine installed at my www page.
you can pay anywere from $100-300 bucks US for them.
some names you can look for that makes them for our cars.....
Eibach
Dropzone
Sprint
Suspension Techniqes

You can also lower ONLY the front or your car by bolting on "lowered spindels" i bet this is what your friend ment.

P.S. the only way to lower your ride with air is using air bags instead of springs (and airbags still use reg. shocks too). Air shocks arnt for lowering or raising.
