Eibach prokit/ kyb shocks

I finished installing my Prokit and KYB shocks yesterday, and I love the difference they made over stock. My original springs had 134,000 miles on them, and were the same height as the eibachs which were supposed to be a 1 inch drop. I guess the old ones were sagging an inch.

Most of the difference is noticeable at the front of the car. It feels much stiffer now, especially over speed bumps. At the same time, the ride is not harsh. Its a little rough on really bad roads, but on a decent road, the ride is very enjoyable.

When I was in the market for springs/shocks I was ignoring KYB cause they seemed so cheap. I ended up going with them because I haven't heard a single person with them having any complaints about them. I'm pretty happy with them also. Now I just need to do sway bars and poly bushings.

Get a strut tower brace (STB). Then you'll really start to feel a difference!!!

sup y'all,

i have a set of pro-kit springs i'm about to put on my GTA.

it has the stock shocks and struts still on the car, but it only has like 46K miles. i was going to buy some kyb's, but maybe i don't need to quite yet and they can wait? what do you think? so many other things i want to get and my ride is pretty smooth as it is.

I used the gr-2s for the front and the Gas-Adjust for the rear and have no complaints

I'm gonna make a strut tower brace, but after I decide whether I'm dropping in a 350 with tpi or a carb. I have subframe connectors sitting at my house, waiting for me to have the time to get them installed.

Yup, it was the GR2 fronts and gas-a-just rears.

Hovrbord98, as far as whether or not you should change your shocks, I would. While your shocks don't have a whole lot of use, they are already 15 years old. Mine were 11 years old, and I thought they felt ok. When I put in new ones, the difference was dramatic. Since you need to unbolt the bottom of the shock to change springs, I would go ahead and do them now. It was about $160 including shipping for all four KYBs.
