I've heard stories that forth gen Z-28/TransAm rims (16x8) WILL NOT fit a stock third gen... is this true ?? what mods can be done to fit them ?? what is the max backspacing that a stock third gen can handle ??
Thanks, Hopefull for better rims

The stories are true.
Spacer looks like this,

It is that fat silver thing between the wheel and the hub.

yea your gonna need spacers for the rims. your gonna need 1.5"-2" to get them to fit right.

$300-375 for the spacers shipped. Price varies by size and where you live. Spacers are pretty heavy.

www.vettebrakes.com is one place, Skulte has them as well, not sure of the address though.

Now you know the RUMORS are true. And the reason you do not see that many 4th Gen Wheels on 3rd Gen cars is the cost of the spacers.
