sick and tired of stock brake pads
ok, the time has come when my front brakes are squeaking again and it's time to get new pads. my question to all of you members is what pads are you guys rolling with? i want to move on from those crappy stock semi-metallic (right?) brake pads.
btw, i was also wondering if excessive brake dust on the rotor could result in squeaking? if so, i should probably go out and get a can of brake cleaner and clean it off right?
GTA away!,

Are you using disc brake lubricant on the backs of the pads and on the points where they touch the caliper?
I use Performance Friction pads in the front. I would recommend their regular pads that come in a blue box rather than their Z-rated pads. With those pads and some lubricant, my brakes don't squeal or squeak at all.

to be honest with you i didnt put my brake in myself lol, i took it to this shop where my brother goes back in june of last year. i'm pretty sure he didn't use the lube. considering it's been a year already, i'm guessing it's time for new pads. however, do you think a dirty rotor surface could generate some unwanted sounds?
