moly vs. mild steel

OK, I've read all the posts and I understand how moly can be stronger if properly heat treated, and how if it isn't it can be frail. But Steve Spohn said in another thread that he wouldn't get a moly k-member on a street car.

When is it OK to use moly, and when should you use mild steel? If moly is stronger when made properly, what's the problem?

moly doesn't flex as much as MS, instead it cracks. i had a CM chassis once and it was prone to cracking and actually not as good because it never flexed and transfered weight like i would of liked. CM is also harder to weld, or requires more time and effort to make an acceptable weld. unless i was concerned about saving every ounce i could or needing every little bit of strength i could find i'd never run CM anything.
