4th gen brakes

what is needed or required to put 4th gen brakes onto a thirdgen car. Ive located a wrecked z28 and was wondering what I would need to grab to put 4th gen brakes onto my car. I basically want this conversion to put 4th gen wheels on my car, and dont want to use wheel adapters.

Well unfortunately this won't work exactly the way you think. You can put a 4th gen rear in your car and not use wheel adapters, but that's about it. No change of brakes in the front, or rear for that matter using the stock rear end will allow you to use 4th gen wheels without adapters. I own a machine shop and just a hour ago finished bolting on a set of 4th gen offset after market wheels using adapters. If there was any other way to do it, believe me I would have.

Do a search on 4th gen wheels or wheel adapters, then after researching the subject, ask more questions. The subject of 4th gen wheels and adapters has been covered extensively here.

Now if you are interested in putting 4th gen brakes on your car for increased braking ability and to make your car safer, then check out the sticky threads at the top of this fourm. Lots of great info on brakes there. It's a long read, but you will be a "brake upgrade expert" after reading all three threads completely through.
