man what a diff $20 shocks can make
before you say anything, after almost 3 months, i finally got a job last week. so cash is tight.
that said, my car had the orignal GM shocks on it still... i pulled thoes suckers off this morning and replaced them with $9.99 autozone red ryder shocks....
man what a diff... when i pulled the old shocks off, i could quickly compress them and pull them apart by hand... they were doing almost nothing.
my cars rear used to kick up hard when i hit a bump... now it just sicks to the ground....
i know they arnt the best shocks, but they will hold me over until i redo the whole suspension.
only downside is, with no shocks before, the nose lifted quickly and it hooked easier... now it hardly lifts at all, and i can break the tire loose easier..
but anycase, it will make the car much safer to drive... i dont have to fight it on rough pavement.

I know the feeling, I had original struts and shocks on my '90. I just got the drtuts back on today and the wheels will be on tomorrow. I sure wish I could weld.... anyways.. I also went cheap. I have a sort of job, but cash here is real tight... Those $10 shocks and $20 struts are making me feel real good right now
I'll try to post something after i get the wheels on and make sure the welded strut towers don't pop off :lala:
Then I gotta try and get the shocks off... hopefully easier than the struts... and hopefully there is still metal back there unlike the struts.....
I thought it handled great with those boogered parts compared to my dad's 90 tempo and our stupid minivan. I wonder what it will be like with decent suspension components!

i was really suprised with how easy it was to change my shocks...
no bolts froze or anything... was quite easy actually...
but then again, my car is a southern car, so it doesnt have any rust or anything...

I am doing mine tommrow, be glad your bolts didn't get stuck...I had to soak mine in liquid wrench to get the lows one off...500 foot pounds of torque in the impact wrench couldn;t get it off....took a good 30 min of hammering away to get it out. Other one slid out no problem.....silly car.
