first off, thanks for looking at my post. next.... here is the story. i went up to the pick-a-part nearest to me and found what i believe is a ws6 84 t/a (had disc brake rear end). i said "what the hell, i'll pull the sway bars from it" (look at the body roll in my sig pic). i come back the next day, lo and behold...there is an 86 t/a with the magical code WS6 on the rpo sheet. so... now comes my question: is there a significant performance difference between these bars? is it worth going back and returning the ones i've pulled for the 86's? thanks again.

The 86 WS6 bars should be larger. But to be sure, measure your 84 bars and see. 87 -up WS6 are 36mm and 24mm.

How does it go...? Wasn't '84 the last year for a solid 32mm bar? I have a rear bar off of an '84 trans am (along with it's 3.73/posi/disc axle!) and it was a 23mm rear bar.

GM kept upping the WS6 sway bars just about every year till 87 when they got the 36/24mm combo. I guess their engineers felt that was the best combo for the street.

25mm and smaller rear bars are avail so you can taylor the over/understeer characteristics to suit your individual needs without having to use a smaller front bar.
