Ebrake hande stuck - need to release

1. my ebrake is shot.

2. instead of the handle going loose, it doesn't move at all.

3. i need to move it (center console change).

4. Repairing the ebrake itself is not a priority right now.

Question : What is the easiest way to disconnect the ebrake handle so that it will move freely?

Car: 1989 Firebird Formula

Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
The easiest way? Torch it off from the underside just where it enters the tunnel above the driveshaft.
