power steering setup
I've got an 84 Z28 H.O. w/ the v belt setup and i was doin a water pump replacement on a chevy astro van and am lookin into changin over to a serpentine belt setup from an astro van.
It looks like it will work but what i wanna know is...... will my power steering pump work with the brackets from the van?!?!
It looks like the resevoir wont fit.

you have to swap everything over from the serpine belt system including the water pump, it spins opposite of what the v belt dose.
The pump/resivoir should be the same. The tank sits on the back side of the bracket next to the block and the pulley, obviously is on the other side.

Well the pump on that van has that external resevoir that goes up top and i really dont wanna mess with that. I know the pumps our cars use can tilt the other way, but is that another pump or can the resevoir rotate upon the actual pump or what?!?! Thanks for ur help

Well I ended up figuring it out myself. My old resevoir was tilted the wrong way; had to use one that was tilted the other direction so i could bolt it up to the new bracket. I took the pump out of the resevoir and used a resevoir from a mid 90's impala. I didnt want to use the pump from the astro van b/c it had an external resevoir located up by the hood. But thanks LilJayV10, I forgot about that reverse spin water pump. And I just bought a new pump for the v-belt, oh well.
