Loading Suspension, Why?

Loading Suspension, Why?
I just had Spohn SFC installed and I'm not sure if the suspension was loaded when they were installed. I just dropped the car off for the day an picked it up when it was complete. I went over the instructions with the welder and he re-assured me that he understood what to do. Now I wonder if the suspension was actually loaded because the front tires are not centered over the fenders. The pasenger side wheel is just about flush with the fender, while the driver side is in about 1/2 to 3/4 inch. When I drove it, everthing is great, the car feels very tight and it goes straight, no pulling to either side.

It's recommended to "load" the suspension so the car is at ride height, simulating where it normally would be on the tires. This way when you make the welds, they will be where they are supposed to be, like when the car is on the ground.

When you jack the car up you actually twist the frame slightly (without subframes that is). Now if you weld frame stiffeners on there and release the car from the jacks you have permenatley set the car in that bend shape. You need the unibody to be without any torrisional loading (twisting) so that your subframes go on a non twisted frame. Its like if you lay a piece of paper flat and put a strip of tape on it. Now take a new piece and pick up one or two ends so that the other two or three corners are on a surface. Now put a piece of tape on and let go. You will see that the paper will not lay flat and will have that bow in it. Same principal for your car.

Thanks for the replies. I spoke to the mechanic and he reassured me that the SFC were welded on while the suspension was loaded. I also took measurements of the wheels & noticed that the driver side is more towed in than the passenger side. So even though it appears misleading, it's actually the towed in of the tires that are different.
